Setting Up Your Farm Profile

Configure your farm information and preferences to get the most out of Holo.

Your farm profile is the foundation of your Holo setup. Accurate information here helps the system provide better recommendations and forecasts.

Basic Information

Start by providing basic information about your operation:

  • Farm Name: The official name of your operation
  • Location: Primary farm location (address or coordinates)
  • Contact Information: Primary contact email and phone
  • Farm Type: Greenhouse, field, mixed, etc.
  • Total Acreage: Total growing area

Growing Information

Specify what you grow to customize your experience:

  • Primary Crops: Main crops you grow
  • Crop Varieties: Specific varieties you work with
  • Growing Seasons: When you typically plant and harvest
  • Growing Methods: Organic, conventional, hydroponic, etc.
  • Certifications: Organic, GAP, etc.

Field Setup

Add your fields to the system:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Fields
  2. Click "Add Field"
  3. Enter field name and identifier
  4. Set field size and boundaries (you can draw on a map or enter coordinates)
  5. Assign soil type and characteristics
  6. Set irrigation type and capacity
  7. Add any notes or special considerations
  8. Save the field

Preferences and Settings

Configure how Holo works for your operation:

  • Units: Choose metric or imperial units
  • Currency: Set your preferred currency
  • Time Zone: Set your local time zone
  • Date Format: Choose your preferred date format
  • Notifications: Configure what notifications you receive
  • Default Views: Set default date ranges and filters

Integration Setup

Connect external services to enhance functionality:

  • Weather Services: Connect to NWS, NASA, or OpenMeteo for accurate forecasts
  • Soil Sensors: Link your soil monitoring equipment
  • Irrigation Systems: Connect automated irrigation controls
  • Hardware: Set up printers and other farm equipment

You can set up integrations during profile setup or add them later in Settings → Integrations.

Updating Your Profile

You can update your farm profile at any time:

  1. Go to Settings → Farm Profile
  2. Edit any information you want to change
  3. Save your changes

Keep your profile up to date, especially when you add new fields, change crops, or update certifications.

The more accurate information you provide, the better Holo's AI recommendations will be. Take time to enter detailed field information and historical data for best results.
